Having an extensive background in the hospitality business and loving my many vacations to Mexico, it was no surprise to my friends and family that this would be a likely place to retire to.
This is a warm and inviting country. Guadalajara is just on the other side of the Sierra Madre mountain range from from Puerto Vallarta, another very well known city and resort for vacationers and many retirees from the U.S. and Canada.
Having found the perfect location for guests that is not far from any major attraction, yet far enough away from the noise found in the core of all large cities of the world has been a newer idea. For those that have business dealings in this specific area called 'Chapalita' it has become a second home to many while here visiting family, vacationing or taking care of business that is close by.
Our objective here at The Dickinson Guest House B&B, in the second largest city in Mexico is to provide a centralized "home base", in a private and comfortable home, rather than a confined hotel. Being in the hub of the financial district of the city we are as close to all you need to feel safely at home with a quiet night's sleep getting you ready for the next days work or site-seeing. We are minutes to the historical district for day visits, and are surrounded by the best restaurants and lounges in the city.
This home approach with amenities needed for all business needs is here, and all inclusive of the surrounding hotels much higher prices. Excellent beds are expected, as well as internet services free of charge in this century. But it is surprisingly not always offered at no additional cost. And when it is free it is often inferior to what is offered in this home. The fastest internet available in this city is 20mgbts. And it comes in strong for those who need to get work done without having to search or wait for low speed service in even some of the new hotels recently built in this area. At any rate, the comforts and amenities we offer for whatever your reason for visiting this grand city, are well attended to. Ask about our business rates for the extended business stay, or corporate housing that is in short supply in this area...where it is often needed for associates needing a private home in the center of this business district.
